Rx. et Rz Rhei Da Huang 10g Drains Heat, purges accumulations, drains Fire, clears Heat and eliminates Phlegm.
With Huang Lian, for distention, Heart palpitations, mental distress with facial congestion and epilepsy due to Excess Heat.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 12g Drains Fire and detoxifies.
With Huang Lian, drains pathogenic Heat from the Upper and Middle Jiaos.
With Da Huang, for constipation.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 10g Drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity, clears Heart Fire and drains Stomach Fire.
Rx. Gentianae Long Dan Cao 10g Drains and pacifies Excess Liver Fire.
With Huang Lian, for red, swollen, painful eyes due to Excess Heat in the Liver channel.
Fr. Aurantii Immaturus Zhi Shi 10g Breaks up Stagnant Qi, reduces accumulation, descends Qi, unblocks the bowels, removes Stagnant Food, transforms Phlegm and reduces distention.
With Da Huang, for constipation and abdominal swelling due to Food and Qi Stagnation.
Rz. Pinelliae Preparatum Zhi Ban Xia 10g Dries Dampness and transforms Phlegm.
With Huang Lian, for epigastric distention and indigestion due to a simultaneous invasion of Hot and Cold pathogenic influences into the Stomach.
With Tian Zhu Huang, clears Heat, dries Dampness, dislodges Phlegm and calms the Spirit for internal retention of Damp Heat with deep-seated, difficult-to-expectorate sputum, nausea, a stifling sensation in the chest and insomnia or restless sleep.
Arisaema cum Bile Dan Nan Xing 10g Clears Heat, dissolves Phlegm, calms Wind and stops convulsions.
Rz. Acori Tatarinowii Shi Chang Pu 10g Opens the Orifices, vaporizes Phlegm, removes filth, calms the Spirit and disperses Wind.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • This pattern roughly corresponds to the hebephrenic or disorganized type of schizophrenia. 3 of the 5 following symptoms should be present, or two that are pronounced. The psychotic symptoms should have a minimum of continuous duration of one month.
    1. Disorganized thinking
    2. Vivid hallucinations
    3. Emotional instability
    4. Childish or inappropriate behavior
    5. Excitable and compulsive behavior
